maybe there will be a tinkerbell later in the series. Meridith is not anita blake, but this series gets started with lots of fun and a great imagination on the part of the author. modern day faeries. yea, they are actually fun to read about.
Love her stuff. Just as I expected, Kiss of Shadows is just as good as her Vampire books. As always Laurell makes a great mistery, action book come to life and takes you away to a magical world.
I found these at my library, thank goodness. If her Guards inspire such fear in Fairie, why are they so bad at it.(4) The middle books introduce so many characters Merry has sex with, I struggled to keep track of them all -- and then they inexplicably disappear(5) the last book (7 -- Darkness) is truly awful. if you want to read them, be sure not to spend too much. Although the first book is intriguing, I had to give the series as a whole only one star. Each book was worse than the previous one, primarily because: (1) too many plot threads dangle forlornly(2) Those that she bothers to address are wrapped up too neatly, as an afterthought(3) The characters do things unexpected and out-of-character.
I usually don't do reviews, but after reading all the negative reviews from everyone else I had to let everyone know that I was very pleased with this character and her journey. Having not read any of Laura Hamilton's books I had a hard time following along at first. After sticking with it I began to follow things quite easily. After reading all the reviews on this book I was reluctant to read it. I have ordered the rest of the books that are out to date and can not wait to read them. I was all set up to be disappointed and was elated when I could not put the frist book down. Against my better judgement I bought the first two books in the series. These books are fantastic.
There was no damage to the packaging and the book itself is fascinating and delightful. It arrived promptly and in great condition.
